Of Magic and Science: On Sight

Valerie is below average in her studies, which puts her below average in her abilities. In a world where power and control is everything, she'll do just about anything to become great like her parents were and her older brother is. When a mysterious rebellion group emerges out of the shadows, she jumps on the opportunity to get some hands on training during a reconnaissance mission given to her by the Council of Elders. Valerie and two of her friends, Delilah and Carter, must travel to the Temple of Sight to investigate this group, but things start to unravel when Delilah learns a secret about her heritage.

Of Magic and Science: On Fire

As the rebellion group starts to gain more followers, the Council of Elders decides to send out more reconnaissance groups to the outlying villages and other temples to secure them before the rebels get to them. Valerie and her friends are sent out to feel out the situation in the remaining fire mages villages. Feelings are tense between the shapeshifting empire and those who live in the small villages and remains of the other magic disciplines.
